Steel ball burnishing
media because
of their spherical shape and excellent rolling action impart terrific
luster, close to buffing, on metal components in mass finishing
equipment - tumblers, barrels, harperizers, magnetic polishers,
centrifugal and vibratory finishing machines. However, because of
their shape, steel balls cannot access grooves, corners, collars
and intricate profiles. To overcome this problem, steel burnishing
satellites, Double-cones, Double Disc diagonals and pins are mixed
with the steel balls in the burnishing media to achieve uniform
cleaning, metal finishing and mirror finish all over the component
profile.

balls offer good hardness & surface finish. They are
generally used for all applications requiring corrosion
resistance to water. Steam water, air, gasoline. Not recommended
for applications requiring resistance to most chemical
solutions.

balls afford the advantage of maximum hardness combined
with corrosion- resistance properties. The hardness together
with accuracy and fine surface finish, makes them especially
used for both bearing & valve application & other
severe applications.

STAINLESS
STEEL BALLS
DSP-BALLS:
PRODUCTION LINES OF PRECISION BALLS
|
Production
lines for Precision Balls are stream-lined with optimum
combinations of various processes. The process given
below illustrate how the high Quality of Stainless Steel
balls are achieved
|
Raw
Material
|
Is thoroughly
inspected for Physical & Chemicals properties .
|
Heading
|
Wire coils
are cold forged into spherical blanks, for compact structure,
in semi-automatic machines known as single stroke Headers.
|
Flashing
/ Filing
|
Die-marks
on poles and equator of headed blanks are then removed
by grinding them between hardened plates of special composition,
known as Flashing / Filing.
|
Lapping
|
Balls
are lapped for final parameters of size, sphericity ,
lot variation and to surface quality in a series of specially
designed machines known as Lappers.
|
Cleaning
|
Balls
are then prepared for macro inspection by thorough cleaning
in a especially designed cleaning machine.
|
Macro
Inspection
|
Whole
production of DSP-BALLS goes through 100 % inspection
by well trained inspectors, under suitable magnification
and light, for all surface defects.
|
Super
finishing
|
Balls
passed through macro inspection goes under super finishing
and all Specified parameters are maintained in required
tolerances as per grade to be prepared .
|
Guarantee
Test
|
During
production balls are inspected at every stage for fixed
stage specifications, and the material is unloaded from
the machines only on qualifying limits. Finally, during
super finishing, parameters of geometry, lot variation
and surface roughness etc. are re-ensured and detailed
inspection report is prepared and supplied to the customer
on demand.
|
Packing
|
They
are then double packed in polythene bags, before being
packed in Cardboard boxes and wooden cases. Labels carrying
details of sizes, quality are properly pasted..
|
Cargo
to Export
|
Balls
so packed are ready for Export to customers.

Heat Treatment
|
Balls are
heated in controlled environment to critical temperatures
& quenched to attain due hardness. Balls are then tempered
to close limits.

Grinding

Balls are
ground to close tolerances in special machines with different
grades of abrasives for final lapping processes.
